The recent CDR Summit held in Houston on January 17-19 was attended by about 200 police officers, crash reconstructionists, and various AR industry people from around the world.  Just a few of the topics were:  “Toyota EDR Data” - which included the latest information on what data is recorded in the various models/years, “GPS Navigation Units Provide Recorded Data for Use in Accident Reconstruction” -  with examples of what history/archive data is stored on a GPS unit and how it can often be used to reconstruct a crash including the vehicle speeds, and “CDR Use in the Insurance Industry” – which described the recent rise in use of CDR crash data in insurance investigations.   A complete list of the topics and presenters is available at the web site: www.cdrsummit.com.

The next NAPARS sponsored training sessions for 2011 are the 10th Anniversary ARC/CSI Crash Conference on May 23 – 26 in Las Vegas (www.arccsi.com),  and now being planned is the NATARI 2011 Annual Crash Conference October 5 – 7, near Hershey, PA.
