Tommy Sturdivan

Tommy Sturdivan is a Sergeant with the Georgia State Patrol. He has been employed there since 1989. He began reconstructing crashes in 1992 after attending classes from IPTM. In 1997 he was elected to become a member of the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT). During his tenure with the SCRT, he was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant, in charge of instructing all accident and reconstruction training for the Georgia State Patrol. While performing the training functions, he wrote several manuals which the Georgia State Patrol still use today for their Cadets in Trooper School and all of the Reconstruction classes. He is a member in good standing with ACTAR, a charter member of SEARS and SCARS, as well as a member of SAE. Sgt. Sturdivan is currently the Team Leader of the SCRT Team in Northwest Georgia and is also NAS certified. He attends various conferences each year to maintain his training as well as his ACTAR Ceu's. He became involved in the CDR System in 2001 and has maintained his education and training to include being a train-the-trainer for the Technician class. His CV lists over 11,000 hours in accident investigation before 2015. He joined the Board for the 2015/2016 session as a Law Enforcement Sector Representative, and took the President's seat for 2017/2018. (Updated 03 JAN 2017)
